A significant milestone in the journey of Degas Builders & Developers was the appointment of Sri Degala Gopinath as Chairman of the CREDAI Tirupati Chapter, Andhra Pradesh, by Sri Getamber Anand, National President of CREDAI.

CREDAI

The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India

(CREDAI) is the apex body representing private real estate and

construction developers in India. Established in 1999, it was formed

to bring structure, transparency, and professional standards to an

industry that was historically unorganized.

Today, CREDAI is a massive network, representing over 13,000

developers spread across 230+ city chapters in 20+ states. It serves

as the collective voice of the Indian realty sector, bridging the gap

between private builders, policymakers, financial institutions, and

homebuyers.

Core Mandates & Roles

CREDAI plays a multi-faceted role in shaping India’s urban

landscape and real estate market dynamics:

  • Policy Advocacy: CREDAI works closely with various Union

    Ministries (including Housing & Urban Affairs, Finance, and

    Environment) to help formulate housing policies. It heavily

    influenced the drafting and implementation of the RERA (Real

    Estate Regulatory Authority) Act, ensuring a balance between

    developer capabilities and buyer protection.

  • Self-Regulation (Code of Conduct): Every CREDAI member must

    sign a strict, proactive Code of Conduct. This code mandates

    maximum ethical transparency regarding project handovers,

    square footage calculations, construction quality, and clear title

    deeds to protect consumer trust.

  • Consumer Redressal Forums: To resolve conflicts outside of

    expensive court battles, CREDAI operates local Consumer

    Grievance Redressal Forums (CGRF). Aggrieved homebuyers can lodge complaints directly against

    member developers for swift, mediated solutions.

  • Easing Business Operations: The organization continuously lobbies state governments to streamline

    administrative loops, pushing for single-window approvals, digitized building layout sanctions, and

    rationalized electrification/infrastructure charges.
